MOCK DRILL SASHS
April 24th
Crews participated in REALITY CHECK mock drill at the Shippensburg Area Senior High School. The mock drill was designed to be a pre-prom assembly for the juniors and seniors called a Reality Check - a drinking and driving mock crash. E53 assisted with the land zone of Stat Med Evac. Special thanks to SAEMS and SASHS SADD "Great Job"

ROOF OPERATION TRAINING
April 23th
Crews participated in a roof operation training with West End Co.15. Brad Myers from the Harrisburg Bureau of Fire lead the training. Crew participated in laddering the building and some new ideas of roof cutting . Special thanks to Brad Myers and WEFR.
HACC STRUCTURAL BURN
April 18th
Crews participated in a certified structural burn class with 15 personnel along with a few members from Sta. 4 and West End Co.15. A good time was had by everyone. Special thanks to New Franklin Co. 17 for running as Truck 53. Also thanks to Curt Cramer for EMS duties.
SFD EASTER EGG HUNT
April 11th
Crews participated in the annual Shippensburg Fire Department Easter Egg Hunt held at the Southampton Township Park. Family members of all ages gathered for a good time. The Easter Bunny even made an appearance.

DWELLING FIRE
March 27th
Engine 53 was alerted at 16:34 to 11025 Roxbury Road box 11-02 for the dwelling fire. Captain 11 arrived on the scene with a two story house heavy smoke showing, "working fire". E53 arrived and assisted with utilities, laddering the roof, pulling ceilings and ventilation on division 2. E53 cleared at 18:11.

MOBILE HOME FIRE
March 25th
Engine 53 was dispatched at 05:24 to 640 Mickey Inn. Lot 6 for the working fire dispatched. E53 arrived staged on Mickey Inn Lane for manpower pull. E53 cleared at 06:08

CHIMNEY FIRE
March 20th
Truck 53 alerted at 11:13 to 26 Worthington Road, North Newton Township Box 247-01 for the Chimney Fire. Truck assisted with roof operation. TR53 cleared at 12:21

March 16th
The Tower responded for a special request of EMS to an industrial accident at CV Co-op. An individual fell from the top of a grain bin and landed on a building roof top. Aero medical was requested while the tower set up for operation. Crews utilized some minor rope work and a stokes basket to rescue the injured person. The patient was flown to Hershey.
March 10th
Crews were alerted to the 49-01 box for another chimney fire. Units arrived on scene with a fire and quickly went to work. Chains were ran for a while before returning to service after approximately 45 mins.
March 9th
Truck and Engine 53 were alerted for the 151-02 box for a brush fire involving a shed at 1527 hours. Command 51 had the tower stage for further investigation. After the fire was contained, the tower and engine returned to service. Units were placed in service at 1547 hours
SMOKE IN THE HOUSE
March 6th
Company 53 was dispatched for smoke in the house on Senior Drive around 1249 today. Crews responded with the Truck and the Engine. Arriving on scene TIC's were used to check apartments. Nothing was found and the box was placed in service.
CHIMNEY FIRE
March 4th
Truck and Engine 53 were alerted to the 251-02 box in Lurgan Township for another Chimney Fire. Company 53 responded with 9 personnel and another 5 personnel remained on station. Arriving on scene, Chief 51 held the fire to companies 51 & 53. Crews used ground ladders too access the roof and extinguish the chimney fire. Units went available after about an hour of operation. When was the last time you had your chimney cleaned?
CHIMNEY FIRE
March 1st
Truck 53 was alerted to respond to the 47-01 box for a chimney fire around 1800 hours. The Truck crew went to work with roof operations. A few chimney bombs and some ventilation were used before units returned to service. Units cleared around 1920 hours.
